# Delete your Diaroo account

You can delete your account in Diaroo or request deletion by email without reinstalling the app.

## In the app

- Sign in to the Diaroo account you want to delete.
- Open Settings → Manage your data → Delete Account.
- Read the deletion notice and confirm. Keep the app online until it reports success.

This removes your Diaroo login and associated journal entries (including saved locations), profile, consent records, synchronization/deletion metadata, and server credit records from the active database, then clears the app’s local data. If the account contains another Taoftware app’s records, deletion stops so we can help preserve the other app’s data.

## Request deletion without the app

Email [privacy@diaroo.app](mailto:privacy@diaroo.app?subject=Diaroo%20account%20deletion) from the address used for your Diaroo account, with the subject Diaroo account deletion. Tell us whether you want to delete your entire account or particular data. Do not include your password, payment-card details, or journal entries.

We verify account ownership before deleting data and aim to complete requests within 30 days. If you no longer have access to the account email, contact us to discuss verification. If we need additional verification or more time under applicable law, we will explain the next steps. We will explain any records retained for billing, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Previously collected analytics or diagnostics can be included in your erasure request.

## Delete an entry instead

Open the entry in History, choose Delete, and confirm. The deletion reaches the cloud and your other signed-in devices when synchronization succeeds. We keep identifiers and timestamps while your account exists to prevent deleted entries from returning; these records contain no deleted notes or health fields. Account deletion removes this metadata too. Offline devices and device backups can still contain earlier copies.

## What deletion does not do

- Subscriptions: deleting an account does not stop recurring billing. Cancel through [Apple subscriptions](https://support.apple.com/118428) or [Google Play subscriptions](https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481).
- Purchase and legal records: the stores and our service providers may retain records required for transactions, refunds, security, or law.
- Backups and exports: provider backups expire on their retention schedules. Files you exported or shared remain with you and their recipients.
- Clear This Device: this separate app control clears local data and signs you out. It retains your cloud account and synced journal.
